Our Beliefs

OUR BELIEFS

THE SCRIPTURES

We believe the Bible is the word of God, the final authority for faith and life (2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:20, 21; Matthew 5:18; John 16:12, 13)

OUR BELIEFS

GOD

We believe God eternally exists in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14).

OUR BELIEFS

THE PERSON OF JESUS

We believe Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross for our sin and rose from the dead, and is coming back again (John 1:1–2, 14; Luke 1:35; Romans 3:24; 1 Peter 2:24; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3–5; Acts 1:9, 10; Hebrews 7:25; Hebrews 9:24; Romans 8:34; 1 John 2:1–2; 1 Peter 4:5; Romans 14:9; 2 Timothy 4:1).

OUR BELIEFS

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin and empowers believers for service. (John 16:8–11; 2 Corinthians 3:6; 1 Corinthians 12:12–14; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 5:18). We believe In the baptism with the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues (Acts 2:4; 10:44-46;15:8,9) and in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit which enables a believer to live a holy life. (Hebrews 12:14; Peter :15,16).

OUR BELIEFS

THE NEED OF MAN

We believe that man was created in the image of God, but that through disobedience (sin) was separated from God (Genesis 1:26, 27; Romans 3:22, 23; 5:12; Ephesians 2:1–3, 12).

OUR BELIEFS

SALVATION

We believe that the only remedy for man’s sin is to receive, through faith, forgiveness provided through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8–10; John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:18–19; 1 John 5 :10; Romans 10:13-15).

OUR BELIEFS

THE HEALING POWER OF GOD

We believe that God does hear and answer prayer, and in His ability to heal (John 15:7; 1 John 5:14, 15, Isaiah 53:4; Matthew 8:16,17; James 5:13,14; Romans 12:1–8; 1 Corinthians 13; 1 Peter 4:10–11).

OUR BELIEFS

THE CHURCH

We believe that the church, consists of all true followers of Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 1:22, 23; 5:25–27; 1 Corinthians 12:12–14; 2 Corinthians 11:2; Acts 14:27; 18:22; 20:17; 1 Timothy 3:1–3; Titus 1:5–11). We recognize believer’s baptism, by immersion (Matthew 28:19), and the Lord’s Supper as scriptural means of testimony for the church (Matthew 28:19, 20; Acts 2:41, 42; Acts 18:8; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26).
